Welcome to my little corner of the net. Thanks for visiting! I am an elder Millennial who is a relatively new denizen of Roswell, New Mexico, an amateur photographer, computer technician, web developer, and  a mechanical clock and watch enthusiast. Here, you'll find links to my [socials] and contact info, my photography [portfolio], a short [biography], maybe a [blog] entry or two, and some [other] fun stuff. Below, you can read my [newsfeed]  which highlights minor changes to the site as well as brief life updates. Also, you may view a sample of my current favorite photos in the [spotlight] section below.

This space is designed and designated to be where I show off my creative side. Social media is inherently toxic, so I don't participate as often as I used to. Also, there is always the danger of being locked into an ecosystem where we users have little control or say. Hence, why I maintain my own little acre of cyberspace.

Please feel free to follow along if you are interested in my story or my work.

Frazier Schoolhouse

Sunday, April 9, 2023

Klausie and I spent the weekend camping locally -- first at a pond in Dexter and then, last night, at the Old Frazier Schoolhouse north of town. While there, I made some of my very first astro images of the year. It feels good to break out the 14mm and get a little weird.

Second Interview

Tuesday, April 4, 2023

On the outside, I am the stoic model of calm, serenity, masculine pride and gentlemanly composure. Inside, I'm a giddy little gurl at a Justin Bieber concert! My interview is scheduled for Thursday morning.

Quote Box

Monday, April 3, 2023

This morning, I wanted to implement a randomized quote at the top of the landing page. It was trivial to build the dataset because of how easy it is to create databases with Wix. However, it took a little doing, and lots of help, to write custom js to select, at random(ish), a quote from the database and then to apply them. I'm pretty sure it's working reliably now!

Artfaire

Saturday, April 1, 2023

I'd say that today was a successful start to this weekend's Artfaire at the Roswell Convention Center. There are many talented artists and crafts people, both from the local community and from elsewhere, with booths set up to showcase and sell their work. I met and talked with many of them. Soon, you should be able to find links on the Roswell page to their social media accounts and online shops.

Stellar Street Market

Saturday, March 25, 2023

Stellar Coffee Co was hosting a craft fair today that the organizers are calling the Stellar Street Market. I've been told that they expect to have the event periodically with the goal of eventually getting together every month. While browsing, I met and spoke with the artisans at each of their booths. You can find links to their respective shops and social media accounts under the Roswell page. Just look for Roswell in the menu under {+}.

The People's Art

Tuesday, March 21, 2023

An idea has been brewing for the past several days. This evening, I started a new series that I'm calling The People's Art. Roswell is full of public art on the walls of many buildings, sidewalks, power substations, and mail drop boxes. Most of it is vibrant and weird and interesting.

Job Interview

Sunday, March 19, 2023

When I left my old career of 15 years, I had this nebulous idea of wanting change but with no specific direction in mind. A few days ago, I got the call that I have been waiting weeks for; an interview for an IT technician position at the Eastern New Mexico University in Roswell. I'm nervous as hell. This really could be the opportunity to pivot into a career path that I should never have stopped pursuing.
